Matching outfits

Yes. I know. I swore I would never dress my children in matching outfits, by Gymboree had a 45% off everything in the store sale. Who can resist that?

Does anybody but me think that Owen's attempt at brotherly love looks more like a choke hold than a kiss?

Owen's photography

Owen got a kid friendly digital camera from Grandaddy and Ellen for his birthday. He is quite the avid photographer. His skills need some development yet, but he is on his way. Here are some of his artistic contributions.

Spider Baby (and shih tzu)

Owen spent the week after his birthday at my mom's. Thomas and I found it quite relaxing to be down one 3 year old for a week. We cleaned a lot, spent a lot of time with Henry, and tried Owen's spiderman hat on everyone.

A soggy Thanksgiving

Henry's first Thanksgiving was a bit rough. We stayed in a hotel, but Henry cried most of the night. Then Thanksgiving day it poured rain. We even dented the car.

Owen loved the rain though, and the food was good, so I guess it al worked out in the end. Henry had crackers for his first Thanksgiving.

Daddy and Henry took a pre turkey nap and the boys posed for a Christmas card pic with my grandma.

Birthday spectacular

Owen had an awesome 3rd birthday. He had a party at school and then a party at My Gym. He got tons of really great presents. (Lots of Spiderman stuff, much to his delight.) We were all quite tired by the time all the celebrating was through, but a great time was had by all.

Halloween

Halloween rocked.
First there was a come as your favorite book character at school. Owen was Mr. Rally from the book, "Dig!" (Most people thought he was Bob the Builder)
Then we has our evening events in the neighborhood. There were lots of super heroes. Owen was running around with his toddler friends "saving the day"!
Henry just watched it all from the stroller.
Owen went Trick or treating with his bud from up the street. He got so much candy he had to move onto a second bag.

Daddy and the Guys

Here are some photos from this weekend. They were supposed to be solo shots, but a certain almost 3 year old would not cooperate so Daddy ended up in them.

The pumpkin patch

We had a great time this weekend on our trip to the pumpkin patch with Aunt Tessa and Miimo. We were all impressed by Owen's ability to pick up the pumpikins and haul them around. His favorite part was the bin full of corn and the cowtrain. (That is several barrels on wheels attached to the back of a tractor.)

Henry is 6 months old

Henry turned 6 months old on Friday. As you can see, he sprouted a bunch of hair this month.
Here are his many faces so you can decide who he looks like. Personally, I think he looks like my Grandmother Mickey when he smiles. But we can't decide, so I guess he just looks like Henry.

Vote for your favorite Henry costume

So through various hand me downs we have two choices for Henry's halloween costume.

So the question is...the dog or the jester, you decide.

I have included a bonus picture of Owen in the leopard costume he will not be wearing because he wants to be Spiderman and only spiderman

Look out it's Spiderman

So I had purchased a 4.00 leopard costume at a consignment sale for Owen to wear on Halloween. He was into it until he saw the Spiderman costumes at the store. Needless to say, I am a pushover, and we bought it. The leopard will have to wait for the Christmas pagent. (Yes there were leopards at the nativity. Sure, why not.)

Owen and Henry at the fair

Here are some photos from our trip to the fair today. We had an awesome time. Owen rode several of the kiddie rides, saw a rooster and he was beside himself with glee.

Henry, as always, was all smiles and laughs.

We even saw some pigs race, but alas ours did not win.

The last pic shows Henry done in by his day.

Henry growing and growing

Henry will be 5 months old in 3 days. I can't believe it. It goes so fast.

He is huge. At his check-up last month he was 16.6 lbs and 26 1/2 inches long. That puts him in the 75% for weight and 95% for height. We had to buy a new carseat because he was too big to snap into the other one and Owen was still using his.

Anyway, here are some shots of him getting bigger and bigger.

Pool time

Henry enjoyed the pool this summer, so we had to take one more labor day dip before it was closed until next year. Owen will miss it most of all. He spent the last day at the pool having a water fight with a 6 year old who kept spraying him in the face. Owen thought this was hilarous.

Last days of summer

I can't believe that summer has come and gone. Henry is huge now. I feel like he doubled in size since he started daycare. He is now using the saucer and sleeping a little longer at night. Owen is still his wacky self. He enjoys riding his tricycle and playing in his sandbox.

Henry's first day of school

As sad as it was for me, Henry seemed unaffected by our departure this morning on this, his first day of school. It even looks like he was waving good-bye. Henry is now a certified member of the baby room at the same school Owen attends. Alas, maternity leave could not last forever and now he is on to the business of growing up too fast.
