Father's Day

We spent father's day at the water park with some friends from the neighborhood. Henry took the same slide about 600 times.
We followed it up with a very fancy dinner at Moes.

With a little Help from my friends

We have had much more time to spend with Owen's friends this summer. It has been great to see.
Owen and Kirby enjoying a snack at the water park.

This is Owen learning to play chess with Aiden, his friend from the neighborhood.

If you have ever spent much time with Owen, you have heard him talk about his best friend Jenelle. Jenelle was born just a few days after Owen and they have been best friends since the infant room. They don't go to the same school anymore, but they still love to spend time together. Here is a pic we had done so we could always remember this great friendship.

Our Summer So far

We have gotten a somewhat slow start to our summer. I was really burned out by the year so I have been a real slug. I had no major events to blog about, so I thought I would post a collection of random events.

Trying to find amusement on a rainy weekend? Nothing better than umbrellas.

Owen and the frog puppet he and his Dad made.

Owen gets more perks for being a librarian's son than his own personal fully executed story time every day. Harry Hawk (the Atlanta Hawks mascot) came to the library and Owen got a special photo op.

Henry, looking sweet while playing on the deck.

Both of my children would rather be naked than have on clothes. This is Henry getting his story time "au naturalle"

Some girl at his school started moving Owen's hair into a faux hawk. He loves it and asked me to do it up right for him. Hair products at age 4? The fact that he was born in LA is showing.

Pics with Mommy

I had my hair and make-up all did and done for my headshots, so I thought I would make Owen take some pics with me (Henry was already asleep.) This way I can have at least one family photo where I look like I did not just get out of bed.

The Summer is Young--so to Six Flags we go!

A parent of one of my students works at Six Flags and she hooked us up on a really sweet deal for a combo pass to Six Flags and White Water. (The deal was so sweet in fact that they were calling around when we showed up to confirm it was for real.) Today we thought we would break them in. Henry loved these little trucks. Owen did too, although he would never admit he liked a baby ride.

Owen on the carousel. I remember riding this when I was little while my Dad rocked in the rocking chair and my mom rode one of those chariot things.

Henry on Thomas the Train. He was so excited he would not get off. We kept riding it around and around.

Owen loved driving those cars. As you can see he was not a very safe driver. He thought it was hilarous to drive badly. I dearly hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Henry, done in by a long day.

Henry is 2!

Henry turned 2 today and he had a lot of family (and his godmama) here to celebrate. It was a very yo gabba gabba centric party. Check out him as DJ Lance. (For those of you unfamiliar with yo gabba gabba, those are the pics of him in the orange hat.)

Bunny Hops and Baseball

This weekend was our neighborhood egg hunt. Henry's favorite part was the bunny hop. Owen guessed the closest number of jelly beans and won this HUGE jar. You would have thought he won an oscar.
Henry also had some time to try out the tee. He loves baseball and always asks to go to the backyard and play.
